Peat Production has started in Vapo-Group

Peat production has started in Finland, Sweden, Estonia and Latvia.

In Finland, it has been possible to start milled peat production on a few sites in southwestern Finland and in Haapavesi. Peat production on asphalt fields got under way before Easter, and at the moment all asphalted drying areas have milled peat or quick peat harvests drying. The first new-production peat was delivered  from the Satamakeidas drying area to the customer.

The start of spreading sod peat on the field in Finland is hampered in some parts of the country by a relatively thick layer of frozen ground. In Sweden, spreading of sod peat on the field has started on sites in southern Sweden. In Estonia, milled peat production got under way in Lavassaare, and in Latvia, it has been possible to start production with spreading sod peat on the field.
