Tomi Yli-Kyyny has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Vapo Oy
The Board of Directors of Vapo Oy has appointed Mr Tomi Yli-Kyyny (M.Sc.Techn) as the new managing director of Vapo Oy. He will start in his new task on 1st of April 2011.
Tomi Yli-Kyyny (born 1962) is at present the managing director of Pohjola Insurance Ltd., where he has made a long career in sales and managerial duties. Before that he worked short periods at FCA (Finnish Competition Authority) and Wärtsilä.
The chairman of Vapo Board of Directors says: “Tomi Yli-Kyyny has a strong experience in national and international customer-oriented change management of big organizations. I believe that Tomi is able to participate in the discussion of energy policy on factual, political and emotional level as well as to act effectively for the domestic energy. I am convinced of his customer orientation, clear skills in personnel management and ability to lead the growth of Vapo’s cash-flow.”
“I will take on the task appreciating Vapo’s mission: Vapo acquires local bio energy efficiently from nature. The fact that homes of more than a million Finns are heated with peat is important for our national economy from the viewpoint of employment and current account. I consider Vapo to be a better company than its reputation, and I aim at leading Vapo operationally a couple of meters to greener direction, and also on level of publicity and emotions. My target is together with the staff and management to lead the company and serve its customers in best possible way. I want all stakeholders to be proud of the possibilities of forest energy and peat. It is my job to develop Vapo as a customer-oriented, commercially regenerating competitive engine of renewable and naturally growing domestic energy,” states Tomi Yli-Kyyny.
Matti Hilli, the present managing director of Vapo Oy will retire on 14.6.2011.
