Vapo Energy division to be restructured to boost profitable growth
Vapo Group is announcing a restructuring plan to boost profitable growth in line with the current group strategy. The future changes impact the structure and operations of Vapo Energy division, whose strategy is focused on growing its business in industrial and municipal infrastructure solutions and renewables.
The plan is to establish a company focusing on industrial and municipal infrastructure solutions. The new company will assume business and customer operations for heat and power business as well as district heating business in Finland, Sweden and Estonia. This plan will result in Vapo Group consolidating all assets and personnel primarily involved in industrial and municipal infrastructure business into one entity, under one name, which will be announced at a later stage.
A continued focus on renewables
Continuously enhancing the business for renewable energy sources such as biofuels is also planned. This means the current Vapo biofuels and energy peat operations continues as a business line within Vapo Energy division. In addition, Vapo will look into possibilities for developing new renewables business within wind power. This may bring new value adding business opportunities linked with our land ownership.

Vapo Energy division, including the new company and existing companies, will be led by Markus Hassinen. The new company is expected to be fully operational by 1 January 2020.
